The beginning....

Barry Allen was born in Fallville, Iowa on May 13th to Henry and Nora Allen. He was one of two twins but was never told about the other twin, who his parents believed dead. He grew up a solitary, studious child and always enjoyed his own company.

Barry grew up a lover of science and chemistry in particular. He often experimented on the soil around the farm and grew up interested in agricultural science. Barry made it to Sun City University and majored in organic chemistry and minoring in criminology. Barry helped the police on occaion and on graduating became a full time police scientist.

As an active member of the Central City police department, Barry frequently came into contact with an Iris West, a photo - journalist for the Keystone Color. Barry and her became to date and soon became close companions. It was Barry's greatest weakness - lateness, that often seemed to spell doom on the relationship. One time, though, his lateness changed his life.

He was staying in at the office researching chemicals for a case when he noticed that he was late for a dinner date with Iris. Quickly rushing across his lab, he knocked over a chest of chemicals just as lightning struck them. He resolved to clean up the mess after dinner and rushed out to call for a taxi. When the taxi passsed him he ran after it. Suddenly embued with fantastic speed he passed the taxi in seconds and was zooming across Central City at super speed. Just like the Flash, the golden age hero used to.

Barry took on the title of Flash and made himself a new costume. He proposed to Iris but still did not tell her of his gift of speed. Soon he was an established hero and a member of the Justice League of America.

Barry took on Iris' nephew Wally as his sidekick (see Wally West).

Barry inadvaertantly told Iris that he was the Flash on their wedding night when he was talking in their sleep, and disconcerted by this, Iris ad Barry's relationship was in trouble for the first year of their marriage, aprtly due to constant attacks by Proffessor Zoom (see Professor Zoom).

When Barry told Iris that he was The Flash she was angry with him, but only until he told her the reason that he had kept it a secret this long. He had been testing himself to see if they could ave children. They could and they started trying immeadiately.

Iris was killed by Professor Zoom a few months after their wedding and Barry's life hit turmoil. When Zoom went after his seconf fiancee, Barry was left with no resort but to snap Zoom's neck in order to save his wife. Barry was tried for manslaughter and was forced to reveal his identity in court. He did not reveal his real face, though, he had a plastic surgery job done.

Iris returned from the future where she was sent to when she died (see Iris West) and saved Barry from the trial. She took Barry to the 30th century where they lived and Barry has his face redone. They spent a second honeymoon there but Barry was kidnapped by a servant of the Anti-Monitor who feared his power. The psycho - pirate kept Barry in chains until he escaped and destroyed the evil Anti-Monitor's weaponary. Barry ran so fast, though, that he was swallowed by the speed force. Barry was gone forever but his legacy woud remain.
