Wally has just learned Johnny Quick's speed formula. He is following an armoured car along a bridge when a helicopter when it explodes. He realised he is never going to have the speed enough to save them all ordinarily so he says Johnny's formula and hits hyperspeed.

Time stands still. Wally, though not sure how to reverse the effect starts to think over the conundrum. He is still feeling grief over the Alison Armitage affair and so wanders around Keystone for a while fixing all problems he can see. He enters a mall where he is confronted by Max Mercury. Max takes him around Keystone where he visits the scenes of major catastrophies. Max tries to tell Wally about the Zen facts of speed but Wally is stoic. He shows Wally firemen saving lives, people in trauma, lives that need to be saved that Wally ordinarily couldn't.

Eventually Wally comes to terms with the fact that he is unable to be everywhere at the same time but that there is a plane higher than them and beyond them that gives them their power.

He kicks in the speed again, returns to reality and saves the helicopter pilots.

This is only the beginning....
